I've never understood the deal with small font sizes on the web. Sure, it looks good, but it's hardly readable. To be honest, I seldom bother reading things on the web but when I do, I always enlarge the text because my eyes aren't that good and gets red when constantly beeing straiend. It sucks looking hangover 24/7.
Embiggening text often causes the layout of the webpage to crash because web developers rarely use relative sizes. Building webpages with relative sizes is a hassle until you get a hang of it, but in the end it's worth the effort.
